As you may have seen through our Twitter, we went to the Biodome, Planetarium, Insectarium and Botanical Garden a few weeks back, also called Space for Life (Espace Pour La Vie). After thinking and re-thinking about the great moments and memories we created, it’s time to comment on these places.
The Biodome:
Since the show at the Planetarium was later on in the day, we started off with the Biodome. Great decision since it’s a collection of four ecosystems of the Americas. On the program: the Tropical Rainforest, the Laurentian Forest, the St Laurent Marine eco-system and finally the Sub-Polar Region. All of these replicated habitats are beautiful and full of animals that you need to see! Needless to say, we took tons of pictures and enjoyed saying “hi” to all the living creatures under the dome.
Here’s a preview:
The Planetarium:
For the Planetarium, well there isn’t much to say… It was a show on KYMA / The Edge of Darkness. Quick summary: basically, KYMA is a travel through the sound waves that exist and The Edge of Darkness is revelations about tiny celestial objects in our universe. These shows are presented live and there is so much to learn, especially in The Edge of Darkness. We didn’t take any pictures during the shows, it was too interesting to be distracted.
The Insectarium:
As you walk through the Insectarium, you feel ridiculously big compared to the little creatures you see. You know, there’s a saying in French that says: “it’s not the small bug that’s going to eat the big.” Well at certain moments we actually felt that we were going to be devoured by a tarantula or something of that sort. It was very funny. Not to get you scared, we chose a rather nice preview to show you.
Here it is:
The Botanical Garden:
There’s nothing to say, it was beautiful and so peaceful. Just enjoy the pictures!
Once we saw all of this and walked tons of steps, we decided to head home to enjoy a nice evening. Obviously after all this, MTLCompass definitely approves of these amazing places the city of Montreal has to offer !
